BUOYS

Many Buoys have broken free and drifted up on the shores of Padre Island. Here are a few that we came across during our 120 mile round trip beach drive to the Mansfield cut.

This last photo isn't a buoy, it is all that remains of the SS Nicaragua, a reputed gun runner that went aground in 1919. Only visible during the Winter's low tides, the ships boiler is what is sticking up. The boiler is in the distance and is blurry
in order to make the GPS coordinates visible to the camera.
