CAMP

Extended camping on the island is permitted and

braver souls take advantage of it. This camp is

way down the beach about twelve miles. Seems as though they may have built a cooking shack.

Looks like they have been here long enough to collect a pretty good pile of beach trophies. There is no telling where we will meet these guys as we wander about Padre Island. At high tide, about dark last evening, we drove to the end of the pavement, and they had

pulled their trailers off of the beach because the high tides had completely covered it, all the way up to the barrier dunes.

In this photo the

campers are at the end of the pavement waiting for the tide to retreat so they can go back to their campsite.
