Last year we were at a campground where as managers, we had full hookups. This year we have a new assignment and that campground has water and sewer but no electricity. To be ready for that, we are converting many of our incandescent light bulbs to Light Emitting Diode’s. Here is what the majority of our bulbs look like.
We are replacing them with this bulb.
This LED bulb uses only 1/10th of the power and gives off more light. We bought 10 of these for $19.90, delivered to the house, on eBay. Here is the link.

Here is how they look when installed.
The light fixtures look like this when closed back up.
With the factory equipped bulbs in the fixture the clear lens was very hot to the touch. The new LED bulb uses so little power that the lens is cool to the touch !
Our dining table light looks like this, when converted.
Here is a look at the bulb by it’s self.
Our cost for each bulb on eBay was $4.29 each. Here is a link to the eBay listing.

At this point over half of our fifthwheel’s lights are converted to LED’s, for under $25.00 !
We did this to all of our lights-thanks to you guys when we met at Padre Island! WE love our LED lights. Word of caution though: make sure that those lights are OFF when starting the generator-we damaged the one. But it's still usable-we use it on Brian's side of the bed at night time!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your new place in CO. Sure was hopin' to connect up finally this summer-well maybe next time!!!
These LED's were much less expensive, as they came more available, I guess. The LED's that we put in our Oliver seemed the same quality and brightness, just were more expensive.
ReplyDeleteHi Larry
ReplyDeleteDo you have solar panels?
Hi Jo ! Yes, we had 500 watts and a battery bank installed at the dealership when we bought it.
