We are hearing from campers that frequent Boca Chica, that overnight camping is no longer allowed. Seems as though Homeland security deems it too risky, stating such factors as Indoccumentados and narcoticos, ect.. We have just overnighted on South Padre and will take a look at Boca Chica today. We sure would like to spend a couple of weeks there. Should that not work out for us, we will move on over to the Nuevo Progresso area. It has always been one of our favorites.
By the time we got through "muttin' roun' " on South Padre, the shadows were getting long and the day was drawing to an end. So we decided to stay overnight at the end of the road on the beach. Here is a look at our very hastily chosen overnight spot on the beach:
